On Friday, August 8, 2014, URETEK Holdings received the 2014 “Award for Superior Achievement for an Outstanding Safety Record in 2013” issued by the Florida Transportation Builders Association (FTBA). The award was presented to URETEK’s President of Florida, Robert W. Moody at the 2014 FTBA Convention in Boca Raton, Florida.

In 2013, URETEK had zero lost-time accident and achieved an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.76, an improvement from its 2012 rating of 0.89, from the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI). Eligibility for the award requires that during the qualifying calendar year a firm working less than 150,000 man hours experiences no lost-time accidents in Florida.

“URETEK prides itself on providing one of the safest, most expedient and effective solutions for roadway stabilization, infrastructure repair, subsurface environmental containment walls and Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall rehabilitation,” states Mr. Moody. “Receiving the FTBA safety award for a second year in a row is a testament to the hard work of our operations team and the continued emphasis they place on employee safety on each and every job.”

“URETEK has improved its operational safety performance, even though we have continued to challenge our crews with new products and service applications,” states URETEK Holdings’ CEO, Kathleen Shanahan. “Within this past year, we have added MSE wall rehabilitation and subsurface environmental containment walls, each requiring new safety protocols and approaches.”

URETEK’s proprietary polymer formulas are used in a wide array of commercial, industrial, and residential applications, including slab lifting, underground void filling, storm and waste drain rehabilitation and sealing, soil erosion control, subsurface environmental containment walls, MSE wall rehabilitation, roadway stabilization, emergency infrastructure restoration — dams, spillways, and levees — and culvert, pipe, and manhole sealing.
